Some thoughts on micro.blog theming

Building a complete website in Hugo seems easier than building a micro blog theme, because any theme needs to connect up to MB’s internal Hugo architecture and that itself is trickier than just building a Hugo website.

This isn’t a bad thing; it’s just a side effect of making micro blog user friendly with a web interface for non-programmers.

The net effect for me is that I may move my blog from MB hosting to Netlify hosting so I can have a new theme without needing to puzzle out micro blog’s “Hugo guts” and connect a theme’s piping to the right places.

🧐

Either way, I’ll be keeping my MB subscription. 🙂
